LIFETIME BRANDS PROJECT GO-LIVE:
Garden City,

Dickinson + Associates is proud to announce the
successful “Go Live” of SAP at Lifetime Brands, a consumer products
designer, developer and marketer. The implementation of SAP R/3 4.7 was
rolled out to the following Lifetime Brands facilities;
•
The company’s
Garden City, NY headquarters.
•
Its
Robbinsville, NJ and York, PA warehouses.
•
Its California
third-party warehouses.
•
Its
Winchendon, MA production facility.
•
Various
Chinese logistics facilities.
The project
called “One” focused on the complete replacement (with SAP R/3) of the
company’s legacy Great Plains business application used by its wholesale
business units. The idea behind the project name was to bring One
common set of business processes and systems across the Lifetime Brands
business units. Lifetime Brands has grown substantially in recent
years as it has acquired companies that fit well into its strategy. In
2006 Lifetime Brands acquired Syratech which had been on SAP. The One
project allowed the enhancement of the existing Syratech SAP system
model while adapting it to support the Lifetime Brands business process
model that had been previously supported by its legacy systems. The
new common system model positions the company with a scalable solution
that will grow as the company continues to do so both organically and by
acquisition. The implementation was accomplished in 8 months and
supported the following business processes;
•
Order to Cash
(Sales & Distribution).
•
Supply Chain
Management (Forecasting, Procurement, Warehousing, Production Planning
and Execution).
•
Financial
Management (Accounting, Controlling, and Reporting).
•
Full
integration with outside warehouse systems (like DCS Red Prairie) and
demand management systems (like Demand Solutions).
•
Enhancement
and further development to the company’s custom “Sales Order Cockpit”
tool and to its “Product Data Sheet” product development management
tool.
For the
project, Dickinson + Associates provided consultants to assist in
process assessment and technical consultants to assist with reports,
interfaces, conversions, enhancements and forms.
Dickinson +
Associates plans to provide production support services for the ongoing
operation of the new system. It has also worked with Lifetime Brands
to identify a long –term portfolio of business improvement opportunities
that could be enabled by further deployment of SAP solutions. The
company is evaluating these opportunities and will determine which
present business value to the enterprise. Dickinson + Associates plans
to support further projects with Lifetime Brands focused on
opportunities that may include;

Business
Information Warehouse
•
An Upgrade to
SAP’s ECC 6.0 platform.
•
Evaluation of
additional SAP functionality beyond the core application.
•
Further
Deployment of the solution to additional Lifetime Brands facilities.
•
Evaluation of
SAP’s Enterprise Solutions Oriented Architecture (ESOA).
