LANSING BOARD OF WATER & LIGHT PROJECT GO-LIVE:

Dickinson + Associates is proud to announce the successful “Go
Live” of SAP HCM version ECC 6.0 at The Lansing Board of Water & Light,
the third largest electric utility in Michigan. The implementation of
SAP HCM version ECC 6.0 was rolled out on April 1, 2009.
The project called “OnBoard” focused on the complete replacement
of the company’s legacy HR and Payroll applications with SAP HCM. The OnBoard project was the second of a three
phase rollout. The first wave focused on the implementation of SAP
Financials and Materials Management processes, and the upcoming third
phase intends to implement the CIS/CRM modules.
The SAP HCM processes that were implemented were:

Organizational Management
•
Personnel Administration
•
Benefits Administration
•
Time Management and Administration
•
Payroll
•
ESS / MSS
The Scope of the project addressed the HCM processes to support
750 employees and over 1,000 retirees. For this project, Dickinson +
Associates provided the implementation consulting services. These
included Engagement Management, Project Management, Process Design, and
System Configuration. In addition, the firm provided Technical
Services related to needed reports, interfaces, conversions,
enhancements and forms. The team successfully utilized offshore
resources for most of the technical work. Dickinson + Associates plans
to provide production support services for the ongoing operation of the
new system.
BENEFITS ACHIEVED
The mayor benefits of this HCM implementation included:

Increased efficiency by integrating HR and payroll processes with
existing SAP FI modules

Enhancing HR reporting for improved decision making
•
Improved internal controls
•
Reduced reliance on legacy mainframe applications
